The ECLiPSe User Group IC Parc and Parc Technologies have decided to create jointly an Eclipse User Group ("EUG"). The EUG will be officially launched at the Summer School in September 2002. The EUG will complement the current ECLiPSe mailing list. Its purpose is to help ECLiPSe users to build a community which can not only help and support individual users, but also influence the future development of ECLiPSe itself. The activities supported by the EUG will include a quarterly newsletter, and ECLiPSe meetings, workshops and schools, with presentations both by ECLiPSe users, and by ECLiPSe designers and developers. Additionally the user group will help to build birds-of-a-feather groups of users tackling similar applications and facing similar problems. Membership of the EUG will initially be free. The EUG launch at the ECLiPSe Summer School will provide an opportunity for those attending to make their suggestions for further services and benefits that could be offered by the EUG.
