I'm sure it's something simple I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to get Saros fully installed in the Eclipse IDE. I'm running ECLiPSe 5.10#92, Java 1.5.0_06, and Eclipse IDE 3.3.1 on Windows XP SP2. I downloaded the Saros 1.0.0 zip file and unzipped it to the eclipse directory of the Eclipse IDE, which put a jar file in the features subdirectory and 5 jar files in the plugins subdirectory. Fired up Eclipse, but there was no Saros to be found. I then noticed that the other feature subdirectories had a file called feature.xml, and that the Saros features jar file had a feature.xml file in it, too. Tried manually un-jarring that jar file into a suitably named subdirectory, but no joy. But feature.xml did list "http://eclipse.crosscoreop.com/Saros" as an update URL. So removed the files I unzipped into the Eclpise IDE directory and instead told the Eclipse IDE to look for new features there. Sure enough, it found and installed Saros. Now it was possible to associate my ECLiPSe engine with Saros and to view and adjust other properties of the Saros plugin. And the Saros ECLiPSe documentation showed up under Help. But--and this is where I'm currently stuck--Saros doesn't show up as a project type on the File->New menu or the File->New->Project menu, and there's no Saros ECLiPSe module on the File-New menu, either. Opening a ".ecl" or ".pl" source file brings up a Windows command window with ECLiPSe running and the file loaded. I haven't found a way to get the Eclipse IDE to edit an ECLiPSe source file. So...any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thank you, --Webb -- Webb Stacy, Ph.D. VP, Technology Aptima, Inc.
