It may be a permission problem, but it is difficult to say for sure 
without looking at your setup. However, the UNPACK script does very 
little, it basically untars the packages you have. You
can just untar the packages yourself. You can look at the UNPACK script 
to see how this is done, but if you can't access it, just do something like

tar -zxvf eclipse_basic_5_10_39_i386_linux.tgz
